A Steamy Trick to Saving Your Suits (…and your money)

Behold, the handy steamer

By Janine Giorgenti

Recently, I have been fielding several questions from clients in regard to maintaining their suits and dress shirts, without the hefty cost of over-relying on dry cleaning. In case you’re wondering, some of my clients reported spending upwards of $75/month on dry cleaning and pressing their suits. That’s expensive.

Excessive dry cleaning can also take years off the life of your suit.

Instead, save money with this simple home method using the handy steamer. Just lightly steam your clothes and let it air and dry out. You will be surprised to see how wrinkles – effortlessly – disappear. This approach is considerably less harsh than applying direct heavy heat with an iron.

Handheld fabric steamers are small enough to fit in your office, and, in your luggage (ideal for business trips).
