You Need a Tuxedo Shirt. Here’s Why.

For your next black-tie affair

By Janine Giorgenti

Question: If the event calls for black-tie, formal dress, is it okay to wear my regular dress shirt rather than a formal shirt or tuxedo shirt?

Answer: No. You should wear a tuxedo shirt.

Designating an event “black tie” means formal dinner clothes. This is not an occasion to wear a ordinary dress shirt. Although most men dress informal most of the time, for the enlightened crowd, savoring traditional standards of clothing will speak volumes about you and your appropriate style choice.
