0Top-5 Best Dressed Men at the Oscars
“The award goes to…” By Janine Giorgenti Like many of you, I spent most of my Sunday evening watching the Oscars. While there were some slow moments, for the most part – I thought it was
a fairly entertaining event! J.K. Simmons’ speech – about emphasizing the importance of calling your parents – and John Legend and Common’s performance of “Glory” were my highlights – and almost made me forget about John Travolta’s on-stage antics. Almost.
On the whole, I was very impressed by some of the wonderful attire many of the celebrities dawned this past Sunday night. For the most part, the men carried a “simple, yet elegant” approach, which I found very refreshing.
Here are my top-5 best dressed men from the 2015 Oscars.
1. David Oyelowo
David held nothing back, wearing a wine-colored Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo. This is what you call a bold choice. David’s tuxedo fits him like a glove, and he balances the look – nicely – with a white tuxedo shirt and red accessories. Classic, yet extravagant.
2. Chris Pine
The double-breasted jacket stands out here, as he was one of a few male celebrities – Sunday night – to pull off this look. This is a classic “James Bond” look that mixes old school Hollywood style with a timeless simplicity which makes it very much relevant for today’s leading man.
3. Common
More than just his ‘epic’ rendition of “Glory”, Common scored big with his velvet Prada ensemble. Common scores extra points with his white on white shirt and tie combination.
4. Adam Levine
Adam Levine has etched his image by combining elements of a “pretty boy” with “grunge rock star”, but on Sunday, Adam presented a well-groomed look – complete with a perfectly fitting black tuxedo and a black bow-tie.
5. Neil Patrick Harris
“NPH” has sure come a long way from the days of him as a 16-year old Doctor! Neil Patrick Harris scored big as the host of the Oscars, bringing his unique brand of humor, wit, and engaging the audience and fellow celebrities.
