0Trending for Spring 2016 : Double Ticket Pockets
“Bet” on this look.
By Janine Giorgenti
Made famous during the era of the Duke of Windsor, the extra pocket, generally located above the right hip, was used for betting tickets while gambling on horse races.
A bespoke feature by nature, the double ticket pocket was a staple of those who would ride the rail cars and smoke fancy cigars (just like you remember seeing in the movies).
Today, this pocket is used for smaller everyday staples, such as your MetroCard or business cards.
While many “retro” features, including the double ticket pocket, may be scored in today’s society as a “hipster look”, I tend to be of the opinion that there is room for creative discourse when it comes to fusing professional fashion with elements that will keep you in line with today’s trending fashions.
